About Me
Hi!
My life is torn between Trencin 🇸🇰 and Indonesia 🇮🇩
I recently got hooked to surfing. Tried it for the first time in 2023 in Nicaragua, moved part-time to Indonesia and have been surfing almost every day since then, haha 🌊
When at home, I spend most of my days in a cafe with my friends. But there's muuch more I love doing - (hitch)hiking, skiing, volunteering, reading, cycling, ...
I'm no dancer, but ... Contemporary choreo? Club night? Salsa classes? Dancing alone in the elevator? Yes, please! I enjoy dancing in all shapes and forms 🙂
NOT HOSTING ATM ❗️there's a Ukrainian family staying in my apartment
If you've run out of your introductions and haven't found a couch, you can message me on IG @zuza_lb or FB: https://www.facebook.com/zuzana.durcek/
note: You know when you've read someone's profile and you like the general vibe... and you want to write them a personalized message, but you're not quite sure how to do that without sounding wacky... just write me what kind of coffee you drink (if you do) 🙂

Music, Movies, and Books
Favourites:
(this changes a lot, so it’s probably not up-to date)
Nick Cave, David Bowie, Little Simz ... and loads of unknown, but great Czech and Slovak music
Milan Kundera, Kurt Vonnegut, Jack Kerouac...
Pulp Fiction, The Lion King, Parasite, Once upon a time in the West, Grave of the Fireflies ... and every Jim Jarmusch movie
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I volunteer a lot. I taught English to Middle-eastern kids in refugee camps in 2017, I helped distribute humanitarian needs and information to people fleeing Ukraine in 2022. I'm also a member of an NGO that focuses on environmental protection in Slovakia. I once stayed with a CS host who's active in the Extinction Rebellion movement, so I participated in a protest and activities they held at the time 🙂
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd be happy to share anything from my knowledge, opinions, skills and experience 😀 It ranges from tips and tricks on hitchhiking, the "inner workings" of AI, to
The same goes the other way - I'm very curious and open-minded so whatever you feel like sharing, I'll gladly listen/learn/try.
I enjoy cooking with other people as a social activity, but I honestly kind of suck at cooking... so if you want to try some Slovak recipes prepared by me, you might be disappointed 🥲
What I Can Share with Hosts
A cup of tea/coffee, a glass of wine/beer... a conversation! Honestly, I think it depends on the situation. I'll be happy to help with anything you might need 🙂
