I live my life trying to be a person that others would like to meet. I try to do at least two good things a day and I think paying it forward is really important in life. I grew up in the United States and came to Canada when I was in my teens and I've been here ever since.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My daughter has couchsurfed many times before and I have hosted with her together. She introduced me to the idea and I fell in love with it. I think it's an amazing concept and a wonderful way to meet people from all around the world, especially from places that I may not be able to explore myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy music from the 1970s. Some of my favourites are Elton John, Rod Stewart, The Bee Jees, Bon Jovi, Cat Stevens, Neil Young and Johnny Cash.

A couple of movies I like are Gone with the Wind and Titanic. Comedy and horror are my favourite genres.

I like reading a lot but I have a hard time picking a favourite book. I love that reading is an activity that passes on so easily. A lot of the books I read to my children, they now read to my grandchildren and I think that's pretty special.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been scared of swimming since I was a small child and at the age of 41 I decided to learn how to swim. It was terrifying and rewarding all the at the same time.
