About Me
Hi there! My name is Bryce Keicher. I am currently studying Spanish and International Relations with a focus on Latin America and on Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies at the University of Oregon and the Robert D. Clark Honors College. I am interested in both local and international mediation and diplomacy among other topics. I grew up in Oregon on my family's farm in the Willamette Valley with gardens, chickens, dogs and horses that taught me a lot about responsibility and hard work. I have traveled to Nicaragua twice with an Alternative Break program engaging with Public Health and Sustainable Tourism through experiential, communal learning. I recently studied in Marinao, Havana, Cuba, learning a wide variety about Cuban culture, history, politics, daily life and current events. It was INCREDIBLE! Now, I am currently studying at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) for five months during the fall semester. I am so looking forward to diving completely into the culture and education both in the University and through the homes and relationships I will share with those I will come to meet. I speak Spanish fluently in the classroom and am looking forward to rounding out my conversational and slang speaking skills. I enjoy trying new things, I love spicy food, I love social dancing including Salsa, Merengue, Rumba, Bachata and others, I am learning guitar, I love anything outdoors and I play many sports as well. My education is very important to me and I am looking forward to the formal and informal learning I will experience while living in Mexico City and during my weekend travels to other amazing parts of Mexico .
