Overview
About Me
I am currently working as a medical doctor in Istanbul. When time allows outside of my professional responsibilities, I strive to meet new people, learn about different cultures, explore new places, and ultimately broaden my own perspective. Life is truly short, and I aim to experience as much as possible whenever I have the opportunity.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a medical doctor based in Istanbul, my daily schedule can be quite demanding. However, whenever I find time outside of work, I make it a priority to connect with new people, learn about different cultures, and explore unfamiliar places. These experiences not only enrich my understanding of the world but also help me grow on a personal level.
I believe that life is too short to stay within one’s comfort zone. Couchsurfing provides a meaningful way to engage with locals, share stories, and gain authentic insight into the places I visit—something that conventional travel often lacks. For me, it’s not just about accommodation, but about building connections and expanding my worldview through genuine human interaction.
Interests
When it comes to my personal interests, I have a strong passion for water sports—particularly diving, rowing, and sailing, which I find incredibly enjoyable. I also try to play tennis twice a week as part of my regular routine. Outside of physical activities, chess is one of the mental challenges I enjoy the most. Whenever I have the chance to take a longer break than just a regular weekend, my friends and I enjoy planning activities such as camping, traveling with a caravan, or going on extended hikes. Running along the beach, playing basketball, and especially football are among my favorite recreational pastimes. Although I don’t dance as often these days, I still have a great interest in tango. And of course, research is a constant part of my life—no matter where I am.

Music, Movies, and Books
My Favorite Movie: Into the Wild (2007)
My Favorite Tv-Series: Breaking Bad (2008-2013)
My Favorite Book: When the Air Hits Your Brain (Frank Vertosick Jr.)
When it comes to music, I don’t have a specific favorite genre—I simply enjoy any kind of music that sounds pleasant to me. I often admire people who have a natural ear for music, and I always find myself wishing I had that talent as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Back in my second year of medical school (2015), despite never having been abroad before, I joined a Work and Travel program in the United States. I worked as a busser in a seafood restaurant—definitely a unique experience for a future doctor! That summer taught me a lot: I earned my own money for the first time, and of course... I spent it all afterward. But the memories and lessons from that adventure were absolutely priceless.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m passionate about the exchange of knowledge—whether it’s sharing what I know, learning something new, or helping valuable information reach others.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Whether you're hosting me or visiting as a guest, I’m always up for good conversation, funny stories, and even some fun scientific facts if you're curious.
I think I'm not a boring talker—I always try to have meaningful and engaging conversations whenever possible.
