Overview
About Me
Hi, my name's Ming (can call me MJ or 铭捷). I'm a 20 year old student studying at Sydney University, wants to see the world! Very friendly, outgoing, nice etc. etc.
Born in Qingyuan, China, but moved when I was 7-8 and grew up in Sydney, Australia, so a mixing pot of both cultures. Hence why fluent in English and spoken Cantonese, Mandarin can survive...writing is really hard.
Currently doing semester exchange at the Chinese University of Hong Kong under the Australia New Colombo Plan.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Want to meet other people from other cultures, don't want anymore prearranged tour guides which rush you along scenery sites. Also have time right now :)
Interests
I'm quite nerdy (or as I say cultured ;)) , really into sciences and math - especially the neuroscience side of psychology.
I did 'weird' sports in HS - so fencing, sailing and cross country. Still enjoy a good run and/or swim every now and then. Love experimenting with new things, always willing to try sports/activities.
South east asian stuff* (Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, Chinese (HK/Mainland), etc. movies, songs, music, food).

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I like blues and jazz, but like most music really (not really into trance and techno though, but always open to new experiences)
Movies: Too many, but I like comedies and sometimes a good old drama
Books: Read a lot, really enjoy fantasy especially, crime/mystery, nonfiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Published a paper at 19 (OK I wasn't first author, but it's the thought that counts).
What I Can Share with Hosts
