Over the past 4 years we have lived in Berlin, New York, and now are back in Toronto where we both grew up. Traveling is one of the favorite things we love to do, and we made sure to do quite a bit of it while moving around the world. Masha: vegetarian and an animal lover; loves checking out grocery stores in every new city she visits; gets way better at billiards after a few drinks

Herrick: enjoys cheesy humour; always down for some karaoke; knows how to imitate random noises (water drops, owl)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Our favourite part about travelling is hanging out with the locals and seeing what they love about their city. Its amazing to share travel stories with each other and as well as learning about local culture, history, and traditions. Getting to know the city with someone who knows it, who's lived and experienced it ... it can't get any better than that! And if we make at least one friend in every place we stay - well that's just one more person we will took forward to hosting once we are back at home.

Interests

Food: we both travel for food and absolutely love trying new cuisines . We'll try pretty much everything once (except for Masha who's a vegetarian - but she'll try anything vegetarian at least once!)

Travel: why stay at home when there are so many interesting places in the world to visit!

Cooking: we won't win any Michelin stars for our cooking but we love trying out new recipes and haven't gotten food poisoning yet! (fingers crossed)

Sports and nature: we love being outdoors and being active, keeps us feeling healthy and allows us to eat and drink more =)

Scuba diving: you have to try this, it is one of the most amazing experiences that I've had and I instantly got hooked

Shows & musicals: jazz hands anyone? Seriously though, we love going to watch shows of all sorts and musicals are just a ton of fun

Shows: I love movies, but its really the TV series that gets me hooked. Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Dexter, Sherlock, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Friends, Iron Chef, Family Guy, So You Think You Can Dance, and The Sopranos are definitely some of my recent favourites.
Movies: Love Actually, When Harry Met Sally, Forest Gump, Ted, Bridesmaids, Hangover, Analyze This, Meet the Parents, Princess Bride, Inception, Space balls, etc.
