Hi, I am a Masters student in Germany and since moving here, I'd love to travel once in a while to exotic European countries. I have grown up in India and pursued mechanical engineering for my bachelors. Then I worked for a bit more than 2 years for Nissan in India before moving to Germany. In Germany, I live in this beautiful city called Aachen which perhaps has one of the most international neighbourhood with Netherlands and Belgium being walking distances away.
I love football (not the American version) and I just don't restrict to the playing aspect of it. I literally try to learn as much as I can from the game and I owe most of my general knowledge to it. I find learning about cultures the most interesting thing via football. I also am a not so regular writer in quora about football topics and I love answering questions about football as much as I can.
Other than that I am big fan of classic rock and prefer listening to a lot of music from the 70s and 80s, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton and Pink Floyd being my favourites. I have grown up luckily having perhaps one of the best school bands and also in a city which is reputed for its taste in arts, music and movies. So I have been privileged of having good musicians and artists, so even when I don't know anything about music I can still try striking an interesting conversation regarding it.
Recently I have realised the art of survival can also stimulate a deep down hidden passion within someone, cooking being mine. I moved abroad without little prior experience about cooking and now I look for opportunities to cook for people from cuisines from all across the world, some conventional and some with my random innovations.
I have been to Poland, Portugal, Netherlands, France and Belgium till now and I intend on getting to know more places while travelling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I need to travel when I am saturated with work and life. The best form of travelling for me is not only to explore the places but getting to know about it from a local's perspective. It is always about the small unknown corner shops and the secret places of which only the people who belong to the place are aware of.
Lastly, there is nothing better than getting to know people from other places and striking a friendly chord when in their houses. It is then when one truly gets to know the real culture of the person and also the place according to me.
