My wife, Agnes, and I are Indonesians who have been living in Taiwan for more than five years as students. Being a host isn’t new experience for us as sometimes, we do host friends with different nationalities who are our fellow students or travelers. We truly enjoy the culture exchange and horizon broadening during hosting. We frequently travel through the year that mostly a combination of a visit and attending academic conferences. We’d love the story sharing among travelers since actually up to nowadays we are also foreigners in Taiwan. Taoyuan, a city where we live in now is located in the northwest of Taiwan. It has a bunch of fabulous spots to discover. Not only that, it is very close to Taipei, the capital city. We truly wish to explore more about this enchanting island with you.

However, we are working in the University, so please considering that we may cannot accompany you to explore around on weekdays.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Traveling without a shelter leads to a bad experience. It happened to us once, when the hotel we booked did not recognize the reservation due to their poor
network system. This is the point when we realized that shelter doesn’t only refer to physical accommodation, yet to have someone there who accept us as friends or family, in a deeper sense. We believe that we are not the only case. We can feel how it feels to be away from home without knowing anyone in a new place. One good friend of mine told me about this community, and he also invited us to join a local Couchsurfing weekly gathering. It was incredible, we instantly made a lot of new friends from all over the globe. CS is an amazing community that matches our interest where we can experience the travel from others, especially from the guests as somehow our plan to travel can’t be realized due to the working schedule.

For this reason, we would like to be a good host for new friends :)

As a host we can share a single bed in a semi-private room, a sofa in a living room, including pillow and blankets. We have kitchen, bathroom, and if possible of course we will try to share our Indonesian foods. We truly appreciate respect and cleanliness.

Our flat is located on the main road of Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The bus to /and from Taipei just pass in front of our flat. It takes around 40 minutes to Taipei.
