About Me

Hello!! My name is aoife (pronounced ifa) from Dublin. At the moment I'm travelling around South America with my partner harry, having a great time. That's us in Dublin airport, just before we set off. My profile picture is us having a Guinness to settle our nerves. Harry has a beard and long hair now. Classic traveller.

We're trying to learn Spanish, and meet local people to help us get a real taste of Latin America society and culture. We think couch surfing could be the perfect opportunity for us to do this.

We both love listening to music, chatting, reading, learning about people / their countries histories and having a good time. Oh and a glass of wine here and there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To learn about new places and people. Also to travel on the cheap. Were both teachers so can't be flashing the cash. We did it twice in Bolivia and feel that living with people form the country for a few days enhanced our experience.

Interests

Food. Music. Reading. Studying Spanish. Hiking and being active. Different cultures. Clothes. Art.

Music, Movies, and Books

Don't have single favourites off the top of my head... But really love all types of music. At the moment listening to a lot of David bowie, the Beatles and beach boys. But also love Kendrick lemar, hip hop in general, the Internet are a great new band from LA, also Anderson Paak is class, some pop tunes, old school disco.... Arcade fire are my fav band, Harry's is yes.

Getting back into reading for pleasure on this trip which is great! Left s really interesting book 'killer Angels' on the bus the other day. Raging as it was a good historical fiction novel based on the America civil war.

I am not a big film buff. Like a bit of everything, except horrors. Harry knows more than me. But we both love going to the cinema.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Emmmm.... Finished my thesis/masters last year which felt pretty amazing. And went to the Amazon jungle last week in Ecuador!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm all for that. We can teach English, learn everything and share food!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories and some bits and bobs about Irish culture. We love chatting and having fun over food and drinks.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Spain
