Last year I've lived in California for 3 months, working at a Ski Resort called China Peak, and it was a amazing experience.

Some trips I think it's better to really know people, their lifestyles and culture. Couchsurfing its a cool and cheap way for me to do this, I prefeer to stay at someone's house than a hostel, and if we have common interests it's even better.
