Overview
About Me
I'm a Portuguese girl, who was born and raised In Lisbon, but I'm also Brazilian. I used to go a lot to Brasil when I was little, but nowadays not that much... anyway, I'm really proud of my roots!
I'm vegetarian, aiming to adopt a 100% vegan lifestyle soon, when I quit the eggs and butter...
Like to talk, and to listen ( the most important part of a conversation! Hate when people don't listen to me... is it a conversation or a monologue? your turn will come )
To space out and relax I like to play the piano, to paint, read, do exercise ( I run) , to write ( stories, poetry, nonsense things) , go for a walk, visit pretty places, just sit and contemplate the beauty around me... and to be with my friends
Recently I started doing yoga, and it's the best thing everrrr! I'm loving it :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because it's the funniest way to travel ! You meet so many people when you host, are hosted, or meet up... it's a good way to contact with the locals and to make new friends, all over the world
Music, Movies, and Books
I like all sorts of genres when it comes to music! I enjoy soul, jazz, classical, rock, funky, electronic, minimal, psytrance and reggae music.
My favorite artists are Nina Simone, Otis Redding, Concha Buika, Ben Harper, Tigran Hamasyan, Rachmaninoff, Cássia Eller and Cazuza, and the bands I enjoy the most are Pearl Jam, Temple of the Dog, Guns and Roses, Pink Floyd, Anthony and the Johnsons and Tangerine Dream.
I also like to listen to healing music, thus I really like Deva Premal.
Favourite mantra right now: baba hanuman
I LOVE to read ! it's one of my big escapes when I just want to space out... I like to read all sorts of things ( on my interrail I ended up reading a book about the "social" organization of different insects... read it until the end. I was brave...)
Here are one of my favorites untill now: beautiful new world from aldous Huxley, One Hundred Years of Solitude(Gabriel García Márquez), The unbearable lightness of being (Milan Kundera), 1984 (George Orwell), Captains of the Sands (Jorge Amado), Persépolis (Marjane Satrapi),Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen), Crime and Punishment (Fyodor Dostoevsky), Blindness (José Saramago), The human condition (André Malraux)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
worked as a volunteer with children, here in Portugal! We constructed a spiral garden, based in permaculture, for them to care and spend their time. It was a really good experience, because we envolved the little ones from the beginning...
Teach, Learn, Share
My mottoes...
things happen for a reason, if you don't understand it now, you'll understand it later.
always be kind
I treat others as I like them to treat me
I'm not more special than the other one. We're equals.
The most important one: LET IT GO, and focus on the present moment :)
