You will be staying with us at our business. The Grey Owl Center (business and accommodations) are nestled in the heart of Waskesiu in a 3000 square foot, 1930's log structure, which is a designated Federal Heritage Building. The Grey Owl Center is named after Grey Owl aka Archibald Belaney, who was Canada's 1st active and most outspoken Environmentalist, who lived with nature as well as buried with her at Ajawaan Lake, just 40 km NW of the Waskesiu town-site. Grey Owl is buried with his daughter Dawn and Dawn's mother, Anahareo, who also were champions for the Environment.
In the Spirit of Grey Owl, the Grey Owl helps people get connected with nature through our line of equipment and service offerings such as: cycling, kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, guided hiking, outdoor sports and much more.
The bus comes right to our door. The accommodations are small, but that won't have an impact on your life as you are aware that most of life's happenings occur outdoors! If you hangout to long do not be surprised if I ask you to help out, because sloths are always encourage to continue their journey elsewhere.
The Grey Owl Center's mission is to touch everyone that crosses our thresh-hold in such a way that we will be part of their most cherished memories.
