About Me

I grew up in the Chicago area with my mother, father and older brother. I have two dogs and a cat that I love very much! I am 20 years old I am currently a sophomore in college. I love to travel and I am taking this semester off to travel around Europe with a friend. I am super excited about!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am currently taking a semester off of school to travel in Europe and I am hoping to find cool places to stay where I will meet really nice, interesting people. I am excited about the idea of learning about the places I stay from natives, instead of just getting the tourist experience. I also like the idea that I get to share my experiences and culture with the people I stay with.

Interests

In terms of school I am very interested in global studies, gender studies, and environmental studies. I am also very interested in activism and social justice. I love spending time outdoors and enjoy camping, hiking and backpacking. I also love to dance, play guitar and make art. Other interests include traveling, working with children, farming, and playing with animals.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite musician is Cat Stevens. I also love Regina Spektor, Neil Young, Simon and Garfunkel, MGMT, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and many, many others. My favorite movie is The Parent Trap. My favorite book is Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. I read it in 4th grade and it still sticks with me!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This past semester I did a 3 month college program in which I traveled with 8 other people on a retrofitted school bus from Vermont to Texas and slept outside every night. I learned about energy issues and climate justice and met with lots of incredibly interesting activists, scientists and engineers. During the trip we went on two week-long backpacking trips. It was amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach fun ideas for art projects that I have learned over the years. I would love to improve my French and learn a bit of other languages. I can play guitar with hosts. I am never very advanced, but I love to play and hope to get better by playing with others!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my love of art, fun conversation and laughter. I also love to cook and I can share good food and a good time cooking with others.
