Hello! - My name is Jóhann, and I’m a student from Aarhus, Denmark. I study journalism, and in the future i would love to work as a correspondent or do some kind of visual storytelling.

I love travelling, and have visited over 25 countries and traveled solo for almost five months back in 2016. My dad is Danish and my mom is Icelandic, so i consider myself a mixture of both, and speak both languages fluently.

I am a very social and outgoing person, who likes to meet new people all around the world. In the future i would like to be a Journalist, or work with media in one way or another, either newspapers, TV or radio.

Because i want to experience a place by living as a local, with locals. And also because i love to hear and share stories and experiences. I think that is the most important part of travelling.

Interessi

I really enjoy playing Volleyball, even though i'm not that tall ;) I've always been interested in society, history and politics, and like to keep an eye on what is happening in the world in general. I love photography, and bring my camera with me anywhere. I also enjoy a drink or two ;)

Musica, film e libri

I listen to most types of music, preferably indie rock, pop and electronic music. Coldplay, The 1975, Sticky Fingers, Petit Biscuit - and all sorts of EDM.

My favourite books are by the Danish globetrotter Jens Bjerre, who travelled around the world and spent time with the indigenous people of remote areas of the world. I am also very fascinated by the voyages of Thor Heyerdahl and Captain James Cook.

Favourite movies would be Interstellar, Wall-E, Superbad, Spotlight, The Prestige, Unser an Arctic Sky.
I’m really into documentaries as well.

Driving a hour during freezing cold weather in the middle of the night, to get a perfect shot of the Northern Lights glowing above a mountain in Iceland.

I would say i am a pretty experienced photographer, and have had several professional tasks as both a event photographer and as a photojournalst. I would love to share my skills within photography and the post processing of this. I am fluent in Danish and Icelandic, so if you ever wanted to learn some old norse, you found the right person!

I love meeting new people, and learning about new cultures and societies. I hope to make new friends around the world. I am a happy and easy person to be around, and will be more than happy to help with small projects or tasks during my stay.
