Overview
About Me
I grew up in a suburb of NYC and currently live and work in San Diego. I have adopted filmmaking and photography as a way to view the world, and travel and new experiences is a natural extension of my curiosity and desire to document and tell stories. I first fell in love with travel during my time in the Navy. I am passionate about human, animal and environmental rights causes. I am a non-drinker and follow a plant-based diet. I also practice Transcendental Meditation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The great German filmmaker Werner Herzog once said "Tourism is sin." - I agree in that to visit a new place and not seek out the true character, culture, personal stories is to only view it from afar. I want to travel with a real mission to discover the heart and soul of my destinations and that comes through personal meetings and connections.
Interests
I love traveling on foot, backpacking, running marathons, and writing. I love photography and filmmaking, cinema, art and theater and feel so lucky to be able to do my hobbies for a living. I also am a big fan of music of all genres and cultures. I am an advocate for social justice, peace and indigenous rights worldwide.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
