I´m Mirka, a 20-something slovak exstudent currently working at the National Library of the Czech Republic who´s trying to navigate an adult life in Prague haha :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My mother has hosted some great people at our home before, so I took the chance to try it out myself while in the US. I love meeting new inspiring people and broadening my horizons so I guess CS is just perfect for me :) plus, I suddenly lack multiculturalism terribly!

Music, Movies, and Books

I´m a natural bookworm, so don´t get me started... but Gone with the wind and Anne of Green Gables series still hold a special place in my heart. So you probably won´t be surprised that I´m in love with the Golden Age of Hollywood and blacknwhite movies (I have a poster collage of like 40 movie stars of that era and I tend to let people guess how many of those do they know by name haha)... and as for music, it really depends on the mood, but I will always stay true to my classic rock roots ;) rock on!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I´ve finally learnt to enjoy myself and life to the fullest no matter what!
(and I spent three weeks straight on US couches alone, I´m quite proud of that, too ;)
