À propos de moi

Yep, I'm that blonde Spanish guy who's always been asked if he's somehow German or so.

Anyway, nice to meet you, reader! Name's Javier-Javi for short- and I find true joy in meeting new people with different life perpectives, trying foreing food once in a while and getting moved by breathtaking landscapes.

Coolest trip I've been to? Japan, summer of 2016 with a college scholarship. Met incredible people and got to know the most amazing culture. One year later, I'm struggling to learn the language, and still figuring out how I got trapped by it

I particularly love folk music, the way Justin Trudeau makes neoliberalism attractive and despise basic people. If you like to dance awkwardly, we'll get along.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I like to think I'm social even though I enjoy travelling alone. And local people tends to know local places, which is a nice feature. Also, money is necesary to survive in this capitalism nightmare we young people are living in.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

From Norah Jones to the Offspring. Trying not getting trapped by any genre.
Emotional masoquist TV shows like the Leftovers, Utopia, Black Mirror can drive us to really long discussions.
If you're into learning Spanish, you should read Gabriel García Márquez novels. He's Colombian, btw. Sorry for colonization, guys.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

When I was ten years old I went with my dad to this Camino de Santiago thing. You basically walk 30 km every day during one month. That would be around 800-900 km. It's fun because the north of Spain is quite beautiful and unknow, and you meet a whole bunch of cool people all over the way. Also, you're supossed to connect with your true self and that kind of crap. You should try it!

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

We could try to cook some healthy spaniard meal, but I can't guarantee the results will be satisfactory.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

Discussions about politics (I'm a journalist, that's what you get), passion about whatever country I'm in that particular moment and a nice beer-drinking buddy.

Pays que j'ai visités

Canada, Czech Republic, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States
