About Me

Hi, I am Dora :) I finished my Bachelor’s degree programme at the University of Szeged in summer, 2017. I am a molecular bionics engineer; I studied Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physic and Informatics in the last four years. Before I start my Master’s degree programme in Denmark, I want to take a gap year and travel to some of my favourite places in the world. My first destination is Norway, where I want to take big trips in the mountains, take many photo and just enjoy the nature. Then I want to travel to UK and to the Canary Islands, where I want to deal with my new hobby, which is rock climbing. I already had smaller trips in aboard. I was in Denmark, and I spend some weeks in Croatia, Greece and in the High Tatra. My most important goal in this year is to practise English. I am interested in other cultures and languages (I already learn Norwegien with Duolingo :D); I hope I can meet with many open minded and interesting people, and I can learn a lot from them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As everybody in this site, I also like get to know new people. I think, if I couchsurf during my gap year I can learn a lot not only about the other cultures, but travelling. I like to get to know different people with different opinion and life philosophy, because it is necessary to understand what is happening in our world.

Interests

Climbing: In the last September I started wall climbing in a climbing club at Szeged. I did it every week, minimum six hours. It became my passion, and during this summer I could rock climbing with a smaller team in the montains which are near to Budapest. If you are climber we can climb together. :D Of course, if you never climbed before, but you interest about wallclimbing, and there is a opportunity to wall climbing in you city I can teach the basics.

Embroidery: Maybe it is strange, but it is very good and calm hobby during the longer journeys. :D

Sailing and fishing: I have never tried sailing and fishing before, but these are big dreams for me :) As you see I love every water activity.

Almost in every year I see the Banff film festival, because I like the extereme sports, particulary the rock climbind and wingsuit. Nowadays I read educational books about photography, travelling, climbing and self-improvement.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I tried skydiving a few years ago. It was not a tandem, I learned it for one year and I did it on my own. It was pretty good, but unfortunately it is a fairly expensive sport.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm going to bring with me some red pepper, which is a special hungarian spice and I can cook some Hungarian specialties like goulash or "Jókai beansoop".
As I mentioned, we can go to wall climbing, if you want, or I can teach you embroidering.
