About Me

My name is Gabrielė, I live in this beautiful and small country near the Baltic sea – Lithuania. So far in this life I’ve graduated from school, university, lived in different places, cities, travelled, met lots of amazing people, did some internships and had few jobs… And right now I’m just enjoying my life the way it goes and ‘I’ve been trying to figure out exactly what it is I need’ (and quoting Arctic Monkeys.. Oh, I just love them)...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm always looking for new adventures and I hope that Couchsurfing will help me to get to know people from all over the world. I would love to learn more about people and their traditions from the locals and their point of view that's why I think this way of meeting people would be one of the best :)

Interests

I like cooking for myself and my friends, I'm a sweet tooth, so I love to bake all kinds of cookies, pies and cupcakes;
I just love postcards, whenever I'm travelling I have to buy some for myself and my friends and it's my favourite souvenir -- I also participate in a postcards travelling around the world project called Postcrossing and I have collected nearly 200 postcards from all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh, where to begin... I believe, that there just are too many good movies, books and musicians just to pick one or two. But if you insist...
At the moment, I mostly listen to Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Muse, ect., but this doesn't mean that I do not appreciate other types of music, for example, one day I can listen to the Beatles, the other - some classical music, it just depends to my mood or the weather outside.
About books...Well, to be honest, I'm a total Harry Potter nerd and I think I will be for the rest of my life. My other loved ones include Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, 1984 by George Orwell... Every now and then I find a book that gives and teaches me something new and I am always wanting to learn.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have participated in Lithuanian Song Festival that occurs every four years. It's the biggest folk festival in Lithuania, that includes, singing, playing and dancing. I was a part of the dancers with girls dance ensemble. So we danced lithuanian folk dances and celebrated our identity by sharing joy and happiness with each otherand everyone that came to this festival.. It was an amazing experience and I am very proud that once I was a part of it.
