I've lived in Oregon for 7 years and I'm originally from Southern California. I co-founded a Montessori preschool in my city and am in the process of starting an educational consulting company that focuses on queer issues in schooling. I am cis-gendered queer individual and am on two boards for local LGBTQ+ organizations.

I've been traveling internationally since I was little, mainly to see the grandparents in Canada, which sparked my love of visiting other countries and meeting new people. Every place, every culture, every people have a unique way of viewing the world and Couchsurfing allows me to experience that. All of my Couchsurfing experience has been hosting mainly because my travels over the past few years have been limited with the opening of the preschool. But now I'm back to it and dipping my toe into the surfing side of it.

I love to cook and bake for others! My favorite thing to make right now is pasta and cheesecake (I can even make them gluten free) because they are lovely to make and taste really good. Pairing it with a nice wine and great conversation is the perfect ending to a lovely day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Great conversations with people from around the world! Regardless of whether I'm hosting or surfing, it allows me to experience new people, new cultures, and new beliefs.

Interests

I'm the type of person who jumps from interest to interest. One day I'll be at a comic book shop, whiling away the hours looking for new series to start. The next I'll be at a whiskey and wine tasting with coworkers. Come the weekend, I'll be on a 5 hour hike to get that perfect shot at a lake (500, not perfect photos later). Then I'll round it out with bi-monthly dinners with friends and family.

I spend most of the time right now working on my family tree (over 2500 individuals and a few brink walls still stubbornly standing), training for some half marathons in the later part of the year, and writing a sci-fi/fantasy novel.
