Hey i'm Lilla (18) from Budapest. I'm currently finishing highschool, after which i'm moving to the lovely Amsterdam to attend the joined Academic Teacher training course of the University of Amsterdam and the University of Aplied Sciences .

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I've heard lots of great stories about couchsurfing and thought it might be useful and deffinitely adventurous so i thought: Why not? I dont really have too much experience in travelling but i'm into new things, new adventures, and of course, i'd love to meet new people from all over the world.

兴趣

Since i can remember, i've always been determined to work with children. I'm mostly drawn to special needs education, partially because i find it very interesting how people's body or brain works when there is something irregular about one of the two or both.

Another thing I'm quite engaged with is street photography. In the past years I haven't had much time to go out to photograph but a few years ago I got inspired by "Humans of New York" and started a small Facebook page myself. I photographed people on the streets of Budapest and talked to them a bit about their life, their mood, their concerns, depending on the time they had to chat. I hope to have time again and a better quality camera to start a similar project when I move to Amsterdam, because it's a great way to combine open air activity, engagement with locals and the fulfilment of my need to capture everything and everyone around me in one way or the other.

Lately i've been listening to Oh Wonder quite a lot. My favourite song of their's is "Ultralife". With books i'm kind of lost, because there is just too many to name. Films... I have a thing for french movies that include either Omar Sy or Audrey Tautou or both. :D
The section doesn't ask for series but as a serious series addict i'll have to name my favourite of the moment, which is Grey's anatomy.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

A few years ago i spent a day at a kindergarten for kids with special needs. There was a girl with down-syndrome and severe autism. She was 100% non-verbal. I thought i wouldn't be able to communicate with her because i couldn't get through to her wen i tried to sign things with my hands, but i couldn't have been more wrong. After a while i figured out that just by sitting next to her, letting her touch my hand or bow her head on my arm to let me know something is just as valid of a conversation as any other verbal one. Finding a non-verbal way to "talk" to her and play together was an absolutely amazing, heartwarming experience.

Although i'm not the greatest of cooks, i do master some delicious traditional hungarian plates. I can teach you some fun hungarian phrases or talk to you about my hometown, Budapest.
