Whats up! I'm a stand-up guy from Chicago doing my best to travel as much of the world as possible. I'm currently a student who will be graduating soon from a school in the USA. I'm social, outgoing, but more importantly, respectful, and openminded. I enjoy meeting new people in new places and getting to know more about their local culture aside from the touristic pieces of their community. I live for exploration and art, but I'm open to getting to know other people's paths and states of mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

With as much traveling as I'm doing, I want to do it as economic as possible, at least while I'm a student. I also think the idea of couchsurfing is a cool experience and a potentially great way to meet new people and get to know new communities more thoroughly than you would as a tourist.

Interests

I have a boatload of basics but I'll narrow it down to a short list. Like I said before, I'm definitely into art. I enjoy listenting to music, making it, seeing it live, etc. I also enjoy checking out the street art of new places as well as visiting museums of interest in new locations. I like exploring, so photography is a fun medium to capture each journey. Aside from art, I like to enjoy myself in each city, so nightlife as well as any adventure activities are always an option. I enjoy biking and being active too, so learning a sport in another place is also dope. Last, I enjoy gaining knowledge and positive dialogue with folks, so talking about cool subjects is always great.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm an avid consumer of Hip-Hop music. I make it as well. Still, as a music maker, I'm open to many different types of music.

I like all types of movies, action, drama, etc. but have an avid interest in films concentrating on the urban experience. Big fan of Spike Lee and Tarentino.

Books on my list include stuff from Junot Diaz such as the Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao as well as manuals on music production (technical but fun stuff).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I received a Hip-Hop based Arts Scholarship that fully funded me through school, and in my first year of college I toured with a performance ensemble through the UK.

I can teach folks about my experience in a City like Chicago. I can offer knowledge on digital media and outreach as well as music creation. I'm a collaborative person and have teaching experience for folks who want to learn what I'm interested in.
