Über mich

I'm a nice guy looking forward to host and being hosted by interesting people from everywhere. I'm willing to teach and learn from you all. I am very open-minded and respectful. The only thing I can't respect is intolerance of any genre. No racism, homophobia, sexisim and similar things are welcome. I am into literature, music, cinema and sports. Singing and playing is one of my favorite things. I also love theatre and would love to see spectacles throughout my trips. Music is a passion and there is no better way to get to know different and surprising music stuff than getting to know new people. I normally steal from every single person a singer or a group of his or her
preference. The same applies for cinema, art performers, painters, photographers and so on.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

'Cause if there's something we need most in life is afection! Meeting people, making new friends and listening to the stories people's got to tell is what makes it worth to be alive.

I consider couchsurfing a nice opportunity to know not only new people but also myself. From every single couchsurfer I learn more about things that I am proned to and things that I should do in my life according to their experiences.

Interessen

I am very into artistical performances, alternative music styles and experimental and trash cinema. Artistical experimentations of any kind are of great pleasure for me. Back home in Brazil I live with a lot of art students, so art, though not my field of study, is very present in my life.

Walking around in cities; stopping to drink a coffe in a cafeteria crowded with weird and different people; tasting different street foods in popular markets; stopping by second-hand book and vinils stores are simple and priceless things.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

For while, my favorite book is "The unbearable lightness of being", by Milan Kundera. Right afterwards, almost at the same position, comes "Leaves of grass", by Whitman.

Regarding the cinema, I'll take "Aquarius", definitely. Best Brasilian movie in decades! Recent watched and beloved movies include: Il Desserto Rosso (Antonioni), The Exterminating Angel (Buñuel), Le Charme Discret de La Bourgeosie (Buñuel), Hable con Ella (Almodóvar), Out of Africa (Pollack), Corpo Elétrico...

Music: Caetano Veloso, Johnny Hooker, Bjork, The do, Bauhauss, The Smiths, Novos Bahianos, Joy Division, Clube da Esquina, Milton Nascimento Bowie, The Dave Brubeck Quartet, Chavela Vargas.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

All the trips I have done so far were amazing experiences. Rome with its exuberant ruines, as well as that amazing jewish dessert with chocolate and ricotta at Gheto whose name I can't remember; Napoli with its transparent sea and crowded street markets; Paris with all its glamour (and not so glamourous secret stories kept by beautiful gardens at night and rats); Brussels with its modern and ancient mix, as well as its nice art decorated metro stations; Bruges with that germanic, silent, proselitist atmosphere; Ghent with its graffit street where I found a couple for which I asked what song they were listening to, a cathedral transformed into a profane art gallery and its canals, etc.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I have almost nothing to teach, but a lot to learn from every single person I am still to cross in life. I know something about Economics. My main interests in the area is about Economics and Sociology of Education (I am a big fan of Pierre Bordieu). I can teach Portuguese, something about Brazilian history, literature and music; English and something of French.

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

Back home I have a small room and a huge living room. Meals can be prepared together. A good bath douche (with a lot of water) and a nice walk by Pampulha, a historical area for brazilian politics and architecture. I suggest those coming to bring their own towels, but I can lend it too, just in case.
