Hello! My name is Kalinka and I'm a teenager born and bred in Denmark. I've spend a lot of my life in a small city where everybody knew everybody and I've now moved to our capital Copenhagen where I'm thriving. Though Danish is my first language, I've spent three years in an international program and see English as my best language.
I've always enjoyed sports, especially handball, climbing, gymnastics and horseback riding.

It would probably also be stupid not to mention that I'm part of the LGTBA+ community and while I don't openly wave it around, it'll be very difficult for me to stay with a person who cannot accept this.

During my childhood I've spent a lot of time travelling, both outside and in Denmark and what I enjoy most about travelling is the culture; getting to know the locals and seeing how life is elsewhere.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

What I found great about the concept of couch surfing is the chance to see wherever you visit from a local perspective. As a tourist it's difficult to find out which cozy café you should spend the rainy Thursday in or where they have the most interesting street art. All of that, you can get from a local, along with all the tips on transportation and things you just must see, not because they're famous but because they will be absolutely amazing experience.

Me and my friends are planning, first a round trip in USA and then afterwards the rest of the world, and I'll be the first to admit that some of the appeal in couch surfing is that you don't have to spent a fortune on somewhere you're only going to sleep and store your things, but it is mostly and definitely firstly because I have priorly had great pleasure in getting to know the locals and finding my own rhythm and pace in new cities.

Intereses

As mentioned, I have always enjoyed sports and always been very active until I landed myself with an incurable throat disease. I am, however, getting back in the game and always love talking about, participating in and watching sport.

I have in the more recent years started loving theatre and more artistic movies, though I have always loved art in general and write novels myself (unfortunately, nothing published).

Música, películas y libros

It would be easy to say that my favourite books were the Harry Potter series, but it was also not nearly cover it. I have read books my entire life and have a large collection already, and it would be near impossible to pick a favourite due to several books catching my interest in different ways.
I have always enjoyed the world of Momo as I find it very fascinating and very psychological.
I love the depth and detail found in the Harry Potter movies, and the realistic and relatable characters.
Thrillers and crime novels are generally interesting and besides fantasy probably my favourite genre.

Of movies I would say that my all time favourite is Fried Green Tomatoes for its wonderful humour and message, but The Pillars of Earth series is definitely a close second.

Music would be an even more extensive chapter to start on than books, but generally I like alternative rock and soundtracks. (And I'm a sucker for childhood songs like Disney songs)
