I'm Karel. I've grown up and live in Dendermonde, a little city in Belgium. I've been graduated in master in science electronics two years ago and now working for Nokia Belgium.
I would describe myself as an optimistic, calm, musical person.
In my spare time and in the weekend I like to go out with some friends, either to the local bar or an occasional party. I'm a big music fan: I like to play guitar; I can enjoy local bands/festivals/...
Nature is important for me, I try to enjoy in a positive way (like they say in Iceland: Take only pictures, leave only footsteps).

I've made an account on couchsurfing mainly to meet new people and share some stories/thoughts.

Interests

Music! I love to go concerts / festivals. I play guitar.
I also try to combine my electronic education with music. I make my own guitar amplifiers, effect pedals... If I have time, I refurbish some old radios (from '30s until '70s/'80s) to save them from the landfill.

I like to travel, especially with a backpack and a tent in the middle of nowhere. but I can also taste the bigger cities. I've been already in London, Paris, Porto, Amsterdam, ...

Besides music and traveling. I like to go to the bar and share a beer with some good friends.

I love weird movies with alot dialogues: Burn after reading, Scott Pilgrim vs the world, No country for an old man, Reservoir dogs, ...
I'm a big fan of Tarantino and the Coen Brothers.

Books:
I'm not really a reader. I think that I've only read the books of Harry Potter. Now I'm trying to read the first book of Game Of Thrones, but it's not really a success :p

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Together with a friend I have done the Laugavegur hike in the middle of the rough nature of Iceland. It were 4 memorable days.
