About Me

Hi my name is Phillip I'm a 23 year old guy from Germany. Before spending the last 6 months travelling and volunteering on farms (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms) in Norway and Spain I spent 4 years studying and working as a Fabricator and Welder. This meant spending the working week travelling to many different areas within Germany on Installation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel but have experienced being in new places and taking a while to discover it like the locals. After a friend recommended this website I knew it would be a great way to meet locals, expats and other travellers who can share their knowledge of the local area and give me the opportunity to connect with people that I might not otherwise get the chance to meet. Travelling and using CS has meant that I can learn so much more about the place I am travelling, whilst making some great new friends!

The most enjoyable thing about using CS is getting the chance to meet a huge variety of people from different walks of life, getting to share stories, laughter and great conversation.

Interests

I am interested in economics and self-education. I enjoy learning new languages and experiencing new cultures and the ways of living that are different to mine. I like being outdoors in nature- walking, cycling and hiking and swimming. As a young teenager I swam competitively as part of a team and later on passed my training as I lifeguard. I love to spend time with my friends and family which are very important to me. I shouldn't forget to mention I love to try new foods (be that national dishes, vegetarian or vegan meals), beers and wine :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- Bob Dylan, Linkin Park, Eminem, Phil Collins, Freddie Mercury and the list goes on....... I'm not drawn to a specific genre of music, if it's catchy then I'm in!

Movies- any genre but nothing specific. I enjoy films with a good storyline that are able to make me laugh.

Books- I enjoy reading literature that allows me to teach myself, opening my mind to things I previously did not know.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing La Maroma in the South of Spain, witnessing clear blue skies, strong winds and even snow in the space of 10 hours.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy discussions about current world topics, such as the state of politics and the economy in different countries. I have a keen interest in history and love to share my knowledge of that. Of course not forgetting my travel stories!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Travel stories, fun conversation, laughter, honesty and trust. I am also happy to give you any advice when it comes to Welding and/or plumbing.
