About Me

I’m a from Taiwan, currently stay in Berlin for working-holiday. I didn't travel abroad in the past few years, until early last year I went to Russia for a month, afterward I applied Germany working holiday Visa and moved to Berlin. Since my Visa is due on 4 June, I have to leave the Schengen area and come back to Europe in order to stay in Europe longer.

I'm a quiet person, but it doesn't mean I don't talk at all. I like to have small talk with people, so I attend many Meetup in Berlin. Luckily I made some friends in Berlin, and interesting enough most of them are from other countries.

After one year in the Army almost 7 years ago, I get used to keep everything tidy and in order. It kind of shaped my character. And two years ago I read books about decluttering and Minimalism, from then on I'm learning to minimize my belongings and refuse unnecessary things.

I'm learning the history of my country recently, the Dutch Formosa caught my eye, so I went deeper and read something about the VOC, and then the Dutch history, especially the Gouden Eeuw. Now, I'm more interested in Dutch, so I plan another 5 days' stay in Nederland and start learning some basic Nederlands.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At first, I used CS as Meetup in order to meet people in Berlin, because I feel like to talk to people instead of locking myself in my room and play the computer game, it's totally waste of time. But early this year(2018) I found a great Meetup and made some friends there, most of them aren't local, we practice German together or simply chat in English. It's such a good thing to talk to someone.

I think it's also a good idea to meet local people when traveling since there are always people who know more than I do, they can be my teacher. I'm still "young", and there's a lot of things I need to learn.

Interests

I draw, with watercolor pencils. But just from time to time.

I spend time learning new languages. Now I'm picking up some Dutch.
