We are Can and Yasmine, a couple from Halle (Saale), Germany. Can is a 30 year old Computer Scientist and Yasmine a 29 years young student of Toxicology. We love traveling, singing, playing board games and computer games, and caring for our cats.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We learned about CS quite recently and like the idea. Why give lots of money to hotels where you don’t even get to meet the locals? We are excited to give it a try!

Interests

We sing, we cook, we play board and computer games. Our cats are probably our greatest passion. We also have an aquarium with a few lovely fish. Can is fascinated by the creatures of the deep sea. We enjoy going to musicals (Phantom of the Opera is our favorite) and we recently joined a gospel choir. And the best part about traveling is experiencing the different cuisines!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Yasmine:
When my mother was in labor with me and had to be brought to the hospital at night she saw a small fire at our neighbor’s house, whilst all the residents were asleep. Me being born might have saved several lives this way.
As a sixteen-year-old I tended a terminally ill elderly couple (my neighbors) in their last months until the husband passed away. It was a very moving experience to help them with their daily problems and staying at his side when his final moments came.
Can:
I turned a person from being a racist to being an open minded person.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can show you the best place to feed Nutria (the cute animals from our photo section are also called coypus). Can will gladly show you a bit about the wonders of the deep sea! And our cats will welcome you as well.
If you wish we would also love to host a board game night with you.
