My name is Marijke ten Caat and I live in Rotterdam. I finished art academy as a interdisciplinairy sculptor. After art academy I moved to Rotterdam. I also studied Cultural Sciences for a while, at the Erasmus University.
At the moment I write ( for artists,reviews, or just about things I see) and make drawings, but to make a living I work as a project coordinator /officemanager for webshop www.schuimrubbber.nl. It is a family business in upholstery and as an office manager at Showroom MAMA in Rotterdam.

I am an improv person. I love working on the spot. For me it is a way to experiment, learn, try out new ideas, thoughts, explore, and meet people.
I love art in all its ways, i am fascinated by the process of making things.
I like standup comedy, storytelling, podcasts, being in nature, stargazing, talking about and reading literature/ the arts, learning new things, or just observe and talk about the things we see ( or don't ) right in front of us.

For me travelling is about being seeing and experience your surroundings, people, or yourself in a new context or from a different perspective. It makes you sharp and alert. It is a way to grow, learn, explore and having fun.
To get to know a place, is to meet its people and get to know their lives. - in stead of watching a city from a distance by staying in hotels.
