Hi to everyone, I´m starting my new Couchsurfing experience.

My name is Karim, I´m now living in Barcelona since the last 4 years as an architecture student. I lived many years from my childhood in Morocco so I can speak very fluently Arabic and very familiar with Moroccan culture as the Spanish one, and I love discovering and learning about new cultures.

As I said, I´m studying architecture in UPC (university polytechnic of Catalonia), I love my studies but at my university can be very hard from the insane amount of work they demand, so practically I´m always at my university studying, working or sleeping in the couch.
Do to the time that my studies requires, I can´t travel as much I would like, but I´m always trying to go out whenever my time and pocket allows me.

Very bad dancer, but I make good conversations and very humoristic, always looking for the positive of life. I normally prefer walking in the streets, taking coffee or a beer with someone… to hard parting in a disco.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To know a culture, you have to be the culture. I think Couchsurfing is a better way to travell than the average touristic way, it allows you to really know the people of a place and know how they really live, all what a 2 days trip allows you

Interests

Architecture (maybe because I´m studying it)

I also like all kind of stories, I´m always inventing stories in my head, that why I can spend hours reading a book, watching films, playing videogames, if they have a beautiful story or beautiful art, other of my interest
I like art in general especially post-modernism art, but for me the most important is the feeling that an artist can express with his painting.

Sports: cycling, basketball, judo and kendo (I started last year) and I can try to practice any other sport except football (extremely bad :(

History: when I start talking about history, I will never stop.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC:

I can´t live without it, while I´m studying I like to hear classical music (Mozart is my favourite) or rock, blues, jazz and heavy metal stuff (from pink Floyd to Kreator). I like other style but those are like my favourite and what I´m always listening. If it not Latin music or real weird electronic music that no one knows, I will like it. Normally I´m more interested about the sounds and the feeling of a song than the lyrics.

MOVIES

Star wars, historical movies, superhero... I like every kind of movies even the bad ones, but I can be very critic. Two of my favorites movies of all time: Apocalypse now and Airplane!
