Hello! My name is Mackenzie Patrick. I am 18 years old and I am going into college with a pre-med major. I love anything involving the outdoors such as hiking, swimming, running and biking. My mom and I spent a month last summer hiking through Scandinavia. Traveling is one of my passions and I have decided to backpack through Europe for 3 weeks before the fall semester begins.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of my great passions is travel. My goal is to backpack through Europe for 3 weeks before my first year of college begins. I am specifically choosing to couch surf because I would love to meet people who live in the cities and towns I'll visit. I love talking to new people and sharing experiences. Additionally, I enjoy engaging in local activities and eating local cuisine.

Interests

My interests include outdoor activities (hiking, hammocking, swimming, exploring). In my free time I enjoy reading, volunteering with children and photography!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a wide array of music and love a wide array of movies. Specifically, I listen mostly to indie rock and I watch comedies and romance. I am an avid reader with many favorite books, but my all time favorite would have to be The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked for a month through the Norwegian Fjords with my mother. Also, I started a science foundation for young girls in my community. The foundation strives to celebrate passion, curiosity and a love for science.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have had many unique experiences during my life that I would love to share with others. I have passions and interests that I would be more than willing to talk about and teach such as photography and sign language. Additioanlly, I love love love to learn. I would be interested in learning about anything from anyone I meet. The world is a fascinating place and you can always know more.

I can share knowledge, enthusiasm, experience and a positive attitude with hosts. I love to learn from, grow with and understand others. Also, I am a happy, optimistic and outgoing individual who loves nothing more than to sit down for a cup of coffee with a stranger and get to know them.
