I'm a senior University student at the University of Ottawa. Looking to hike the West Coast of America and spend some time in the Middle East and the East (India, China, Japan, etc.) in the future. I'd like to get to know the world better; ideally before I find myself confined by my career or something like that. Not that I intend to work something dull. I just mean that - as a student - I'm more flexible!

I live at home with my family. Meaning hosting can be difficult at times. I'll let you know when I have a place of my own... Which might take a while, I like it here at home! If you can stay, I'll send you pictures of your room privately. I live near downtown Ottawa. I'd be happy to give you a tour.

I'm a bit wary about sharing information publicly. Hence why I left some sections blank. Happy to share this kind of information (which I consider basic, but interesting) in person.

As a surfer, I'm clean and courteous. I'm respectful of other people and privacy. I certainly don't expect anyone to take care of me or anything like that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'll get straight to it. It's cheap and it's effective. But! I also enjoy meeting people. Getting a local perspective on the place. Opinions. Events. Etc.

I travel alone about half the time, so I'm more than happy to share my experiences and whatnot. We're social creatures after all. That said, I'm not an extrovert. Don't expect a broken tape recorder. I am just sociable.

Interests

Camping: Love the outdoors.

Photography: The outdoors. "Finding" art (eg. pattern in a muddle puddle). No over editing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to share almost anything. Physical or verbal. I won't be sharing my toothbrush or everything about my personal life, but I otherwise consider myself an informed and honest person. To be clear, I don't have an opinion on everything. I also don't think my opinions are necessarily right. So I'm ready to be proven wrong and to learn something new. And, I don't take it personally if you believe something I don't. I think if we want a good conversation, we need to be prepared to get a little uncomfortable! The "truth", or the challenge thereof, can hurt!
