About Me

Dreams will fly when given wings. I have spent a lifetime going for it. I have lived in California for twenty years. Twelve of those years were spent on a sailboat. I love to travel and meet people to learn about their stories. My first hosting experience was with a Parisian young woman twenty-five years ago, and to this day we are the closest of friends.

I have crossed the country via trains, two-seater planes and cargo vans at least a dozen times. Amtrak is a favorite of mine. I enjoy writing, all kinds of music, visual and performing arts, reading, tai chi, yoga, meditating and sampling new foods and sharing meals as a vegan. I practice using my design skills to develop ideas and organize for homes & businesses, care taking for homes & pets (for eleven years, now) writing, life coaching and fund raising for children to participate in the performing arts. I choose to live a simple life and I am a firm believer in the Latin expression, 'In opera guadium - The Joy is in The Works.' I hope to learn more about you and I thank you for you interest in my humble tucked away abode.

Wishing you safe and inspiring travels!!

Teach, Learn, Share

When sharing the place, I aim to keep an early morning schedule - up anywhere between 4 - 6 a.m. generally.
If you like early morning exercise, yoga, stretching or dance - join me at the apartment or for a walk in the neighborhood.
Please see 'House Rules' below for additional *important information.*

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hearty welcome, tea, chat & quiet time, adventure, humor, song and dance.

Single room studio & bathroom, basic pantry, kitchen utensils, closet & cubby space.

$250 Cash Key Deposit: To cover for lost keys or new locks and labor to replace lock(s)/keys

Keep as much shared space clear and tidy, since the place is tiny and this helps with mobility issues and safety.

'House Rules' (Some rules pertain to sharing space with me or others, #'s 7 & 9)

1.) Close & lock all windows and doors when leaving the apartment.
2.) All furniture and appliance surfaces including floors (kitchen, bath, main live&sleep area) needs to be preferably clear of articles, tidy, dusted, swept, wiped down and dry immediately after use, ready for the next person.
3.) All trash needs to be immediately placed in a bag and is to be removed daily from the apartment.
4.) If you use any kitchen/pantry/cleaning items, put all items away after use.
5.) If you use any linens, please either contribute to a soap/wash/dry $ fund or volunteer to help with or do some wash.
6.) Vegan kitchen only - no animal products or by products in the apartment - no eggs, cheese, milk, gelatin, unless it is made from plant material. No alcohol.
7.) If you have an early morning or event time that you'll need to use the shower/bath, please text or leave a note with ideally 12 - 24 hours notice to work out a schedule.
8.) Air bed and bedding needs to be put away daily upon waking.
9.) It is not preferable, however if you don't retire by 9p.m. or choose to sleep in past 7a.m., there's a $25 fee collected daily. I'll be in bed by 9p.m. and up as early as 4a.m. - 9 a.m. Also, 24 hour prior notice if you're planning to be out late or rise late - additional fees collected ahead of time.
10.) Shoes removed at door. Extra shoes - keep tucked in your suitcase.

'Helpful to Contribute'

Replacing or financial contribution toward household products is always appreciated and especially for a stay of a week or longer.

Any offer of help, service or offering you have to share for home improvements, organizing, shopping or projects is welcome.

Your questions are welcome.
