Kia ora! Last year I completed my University degree in History and Political Science, and I'm spending 2016 travelling and volunteering my way around Europe. I grew up in the Netherlands but immigrated to New Zealand with my family when I was ten years old. My favourite hobbies include reading, writing, listening to music, hiking, swimming and yoga. I love everything about history, food and travel.

I love getting to know people from different places and cultures and hearing their stories! Couchsurfing is great because you get to meet local people from the places you're visiting, which makes for a more interesting and in depth backpacking experience. I have met people from all over the world during my travels, but it's rare to connect with locals. Couchsurfing seems like the perfect platform for this! I'm also travelling on a budget which makes couchsurfing extra appealing.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I love music from all sorts of genres, especially pop and acoustic. Some of my favourite artists include Josh Pyke, Regina Spektor and Gabrielle Aplin.

In terms of movies I like foreign language films, comedy and drama. The best movie I've seen recently is 'Brooklyn'.

Reading is my oldest and favourite hobby. I love historical fiction and fantasy but read from lots of different genres.
