About Me
Hello everyone,
My name is Şevval. I studied international relations in Istanbul and my travel adventures began during my university years when I went to Sweden for my first experience abroad. I currently work and live with my family in Istanbul. A few years ago, when I was living with my sister, I was able to host guests in my home, but unfortunately my current work schedule does not allow for this. However, I can consider offers for weekends when I am available. I use this app not so much for free accommodation or opening my home to others, but rather with the idea of cultural exchange and making friends from different parts of the world. After spending my Erasmus period in Sweden, I had the opportunity to live in many cities across the country for about 28 years, which gave me the chance to make wonderful friends from all over the world. Currently, I live with my family in a house located in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of Istanbul's city centre. Depending on my work schedule, I can host guests on weekends, spend time together, and take them to the city centre to show them my favourite spots. I would also like to mention that I have two dogs and that animal lovers have a special place in my heart.
I enjoy opening my home to the lovely people who have hosted me in the past when they come to Istanbul, reminiscing about old times and showing them around my city. As I mentioned, this practice continues for me as a way to stay in touch with the wonderful travellers I have crossed paths with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here not to save money, but to laugh with different cultures with the same sincerity and to collect beautiful people.I believe that the best way to get to know a country and its culture is to spend time with its local people.I would like to state that I absolutely do not accept as guests people who are only looking for a place to stay.
