Hi,

I'm Joep and I love to travel, meeting new people and seeing new places.
I live in the Netherlands where I study the Industrial Design Engineering. I have a passion for design and problem solving, I strive to make this my profession.

I am generally a calm person and easy to talk to. I like socializing and get to know new people. On the other hand I enjoy solitude and just watching people (not in a weird way ofcourse :P) or nature. Photography is another passion of mine, my camera goes with me everywhere I travel.

I try to live as conciously as possible by being a vegetarian and keeping my travels as environmentally friendly as possible. Enjoying life and being happy is the most important thing to me, but I find it just as important to be responsible about what you do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and meet new people from different cultures or different walks of life.
While a hostel can be nice to relax and get your own space I always feel like you're missing the reality of the place your visiting. Through Couchsurfing I can meet new people who know and are the place I'm visiting. Of course saving some money on the way is always nice too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Waking up at 3 in the morning to climb up a French alp without a headlamp, the stars were amazing and the cracks in the glacier hard to see. Arriving at the summit, the view was amazing and hopefully next year the summit will be higher.
