About Me

I am a 26 year old musician. I enjoy teaching guitar but above all i am a band man. I enjoy playing in bands. This means Live shows, studio recordings, rehearsals...the whole shebang. I am a big fan of 80 glam rock but i enjoy so many different kinds of music it is impossible to sum up. I am absolutely fond of traveling. Backpacking is without a doubt my favorite way of seeing the world. I grew up as an expat-child in Hong Kong and Taiwan, following my father around who worked for Phillips. I have been living in the Netherlands now for almost 12 years but i can't wait to move away, not because I don't like it here but because I am ready for a new adventure. My band Mutt Dog County has video's and music all over the web so if you are interested feel free to check it out. I am the guitar player with long dark hair going bezerk on stage. I am a people's-person through and through. At the end of my life I would like to look back on meeting as many interesting, weird, funny, clever, and kind people as possible. Getting in touch with different kinds of people and learning what their lives consist of is what makes life worth living. I just got my bachelor's degree in Economic history by focussing primarily on the vast array of injustice within modern capitalism.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The main reason to travel is to meet new people and get a taste of different cultures and places. Hotels are basically the same all over the world. Coachsurfing is a way of making travels worth while. It is cheaper too. Why would any of us pay ridiculous amounts of money for hotels when there is a way to get a feel of the place your visiting and the people who live there in such a direct and pure way. Even though i am new to coach surfing i am a couch surfer at heart and always have been. Even without this forum I have always welcomed strangers into my home and I have never regretted doing so. Not a day goes by that I do not have a couple of visitors that may or may not stick around for days at a time. I see no reason for closed-mindedness towards others because in the end it is only others who can enrich our lives.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At age 20 I built a platform for young local bands called 'from the gutter to the glory' in the my hometown The Hague. Under this banner me and two good friends booked shows, created an extensive promotion, made short films, organized and hosted festivals and much more. We managed to make our services free for the bands we were helping because we managed to receive 10 000 euro's in european subsidies.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I guess i'm a mellow and interested guy who is always up for a good conversation about anything really. Other than that I am always interested in discussing/listening/making music but above all else eager for new experiences be-it partying, chilling, walking, watching, drinking, eating, etc...
