About Me

Hi,

I'm Steph, my partner is Ben. We are both in our thirties and have 5 kids between us, but not all of them live with us full time. We are a very chilled bunch. We take our time with things and have a very relaxed approach to life.

We love to travel and also meet new people. Our last holiday was to Morocco which was incredible. Such a vibrant, beautiful country and the people were so friendly, although the poverty was heartbreaking.

We are interested in art, music, Ben and my eldest son play guitar and we all love a bit of sing. We like to know people and I love deep talks about everything and nothing. We all love to laugh.

We love to camp and festivals are one of favourite things to do in the summer.

We've got a dog called Alfie, hes a big fella but as gentle as they come and we have Misty, our cat. She loves a fuss when she wants one but is generally quite a shy girl.

We live 13.4 miles from Birmingham so not in the city itself, about 25 minutes from Birmingham on the train, 30 minutes in a car; in good traffic. Its great because its quiet and reasonably calm but close enough to Birmingham to enjoy all the best bits. We live about 45 minutes from the airport by car or an hour by train.
Our house overlooks hills and a park, we're close to nature and various attractions like West Midlands Safari Park, the Black Country Living Museum, Clent Hills, and the general beauty of the countryside.

If you want somewhere in the city of Birmingham, this is not the right place for you. Sorry x

Our area is quite hilly and serene in places. We live close to some canals which are great for gentle walks and we are happy to show you around some lovely local parks. We have a shopping centre a mile or so away which is handy. Public transport links are good and our local train stations are Lye and Stourbridge Junction.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love meeting new people and really getting to know them. About their culture and country, what their experiences have been and just to connect on that human level that is missing sometimes, in such a busy World.

We're a friendly bunch who are really respectful and ethical in our approach to life. The kids are great kids, with lovely attitudes and values and we're hoping they get the buzz for travelling too.

We are hoping that by joining Couch Surfing, it opens up opportunities for us to travel which would have been difficult otherwise due to money.
It would be amazing if someone could put all of us up for a while but we understand the likeliness of that is low...one can hope though. If not, it would just be me and my husband.
