Hello !

My name is Louis, I'm 21, and I'm a French student on a year off.

I spent 3 years studying History and Sociology in Paris, which just increased my curiosity for foreign countries, their cultures and their past. During those 3 years, every now and then, I would pick up my backpack and go for some hitchhiking and wildcamping trips around Europe. After graduation I decided I would do it for real and begin a genuine journey ; longer, further, better.

I was brought up in the countryside in Southern France, and really enjoyed being able to play outdoors and explore nature. I still love hiking, and became over the years more and more aware of the environmental crisis we're provoking.
That was the main reason that lead me to decide to avoid taking the plane, and to travel instead by ways of coaches, trains, or hitchhiking.

Amongst other things, I enjoy very much talking, reading, cooking and eating good food, discovering new types of music, hiking, swimming - and of course, travelling.
I would humbly describe myself as an open-minded and easy-going person - I actually never get upset.

I like to meet people from different countries and cultures, and couchsurfing is a great opportunity to do so
