I'm Richard and only 18 years old. I finished High School this summer and now I am in the middle of my gap year. I love to travel, experience new cultures and try exotic food : ) In my free time I do a lot of of sports, especially field hockey, and of course to hang out with my friends. My interests are widespread from music, theatre & great bars to politics, refugee help in my hometown or photography.

Although I'm quite young and a new Couchsurfer, I hope to meet some awesome people to discover new cities and to share travel experiences ;)!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm Couchsurfing because I love to meet and connect with new people, experience different cultures and to discover an unknown city from a local perspective.

At the moment I am in the middle of my gap year after High School. At first, I worked for four months in a School in India for underprivileged children which was a great experience. The work with the kids was amazing and the many different facets of Indian culture were overwhelming.

Now I'm travelling through Vietnam, Cambodia, China and Japan for the next three months and would be very happy to meet new people.

I really hope that someone is so kind to host me, even though I'm a new Couchsurfer!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kinds of music and I am always happy to find new great vibes. Some of my favourite artists are Jack Johnson, Jay-Z, Bakermat, Fritz Kalkbrenner, Mumford & Sons or Frank Ocean.

Two of my favourite movies are The God Father and The Intouchables. In recent time I also enjoyed watching The House of Cards or Narcos from Netflix.

Nonetheless, I am one of the worst people to talk about music or movies because I always forget the names of Interprets, Actors and Directors : )
