My name is Thaís, Brazilian (from the heart of Brazil, Goiânia - Goiás), 45 years old. I’m a psychologist and a public worker, specialized in mental health. Back in Brazil, during the pandemic, I was assigned to give psychological support to a group of health care first-line professionals fighting Covid-19. I'm grateful for everything I have lived, and I feel that it is now time to explore new opportunities and challenges. Early this year, I applied for and have been granted a leave of absence internship, so that I can immerse myself in American culture. I'm very fond of this country, and my goals are to speak English fluently and learn as much about the history and culture as possible.

My education includes multiple disciplinary degrees in Psychology (my passion and in which I currently practice), Law and Physical Education. I love to study and to enhance my skills and qualifications, I have successfully completed continuing education courses, mainly in the area of ​​self-knowledge. I love reading, and I’m an amateur photographer.

I try to have a balanced life, I tend to make conscious choices and to prefer organic food, and I lead a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. As most prominent traits, I'm intelligent and curious, polite and kind, I’m a good listener and I like to observe my surroundings. I’m open-minded, and I have good sense of humor. I have a keen perception, a keen aesthetic sense (I have a peculiar and authentic style), a refined palate (I like to enjoy a good gastronomy). I'm attracted to clean, organized, cozy environments. I enjoy exercising, which I do almost every day (running, dancing, pilates, yoga, cycling). Dancing is my greatest passion and I love bachata and, especially, forró and zouk.

I love to travel, visiting different places, meeting new people and diverse cultures. Last but not least, I love nature and the great outdoors. I'm very close to my parents, siblings, nephews and nieces. I like spending time with friends, having deep conversation and laughing at silly things. Family and friends are very important to me.

On the other hand, I also love enjoying my own company, being alone, in silence and in contact with Myself, listening to my fellings, staying at home (a sacred place, a place of warmth and refuge), watching good movies/series (in addition to reading, studying and listening to music). Living lightly is my greatest pursuit.

P.S.: Travel for me is also an interior journey and I enter a deep contemplative and meditative state... and I don't usually interrupt these moments to take pictures. The photos on my profile I gave myself when I left Brazil the last time (last year) as a gift as the closing of a cycle and the beginning of a new journey.

Films: Many! The list is huge! I tend to like Drama, Documentary, Brazilian Comedy, Adventure/Fantasy, Independent.

Books: My favorite readings are on A Course in Miracles, Ayurveda, Pathwork (Eva Pierrakos), Sathya Sai Baba's teachings, and starting now Women Who Run With Wolves.
