I’m Hugo, a young traveller from Spain. I’m 18 years old and I'm doing a gap year going around the world. I studied audio-visual communication (photography and filmmaking) and web development. Also, I have worked for one year as a waiter, chef, housekeeper and teacher.
Since I was a child I knew I wanted to travel because I love it, last year I made my first trip in Europe but this one I decided to take to the adventure all over the world.
When I finished my compulsory school studies I started working so hard to save my travel money while continuing my studies online.
I want to travel the world, see new places, learn new things and meet new people. I love to get to know new cultures, try new food, taking pictures and getting to know the cities like the locals. I also love cooking and I’m good at it. If I go to your home I would love to cook some spanish food like “tortilla” or “croquetas”.
I love animals! In my house we always have pets and how I live in a rural place I’m in contact with the animals, this is why two years ago I decided to stop eating meat and be vegetarian. I’m very easygoing and helpful.
I have a medium-high level of English but I want to learn some new languages and improve my English aswell.

I'm in couchsurfing because for me to travel beyond being a vacation is a lifestyle and therefore I'm not satisfied with being on the sites and just go to the hotels and visit the tourist sites. For me travel is to discover the country and live as one more, that's why I prefer to eat the country's food, learn the language, know the culture and share experiences with the locals. That is what makes sense to travel. So this platform is a very helpful tool that offers the opportunity to live great experiences and meet new friends. What interests me ?? All hahahahaha. I think the best thing about traveling is all you can learn, my interests are super varied and I'm sure that after a few minutes of conversation you can discover something in common with anyone. Specifically, some things I like are cinema, literature, series, cooking but above all TRIPS, what better than sharing experiences and dreams ??

My favorite books and movies are Wild and Into the wild, currently reading Thoreau and London. Also I love literature of any kind and philosophy, cinema is my great passion after traveling. And music I like rock especially, but in general most styles if it is from the 80's and 90's better.

I have crossed the Thorong La Pass, the highest mountain pass in the world. And I'm going around the world with 18.

I can teach Spanish or some Catalan, and I would like to improve my English. I am also very good at cooking, so I am always willing to prepare something or learn new recipes. And even i can help and teach about online and internet issues or photography. In general I like to learn anything and in fact is why I travel, to learn.
