I live on a tropical island in China with my Canadian boyfriend, Mike. We like to travel, experience different cultures, and eat delicious food. I have run a half-marathon but I think I prefer to walk - it's a great way to check out new places at a comfortable pace :) My background is Russian/Chinese but I don't exemplify the stereotypes of either one... I'm my own kind of person - polite, a little bit quiet and reserved, but keenly curious about the world outside. I'm on a quest to be more fearless!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

If I can make a few new friends during my travels, I will consider my time couchsurfing a success. One day Mike and I would like to open our home to people who are like-minded and wish to try couchsurfing in China, and I'd love to gain some insight into the whole experience. Travelling can be an expensive prospect, so I'm excited to be able to have a place to rest my head, and save a few dollars for the more enjoyable aspects of travel - events and trying local tasty foods.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a whim, packed a bag, bought a ticket and traveled the next day to Thailand, on my own. It was an amazing month long adventure - it was my first trip and it was how I "caught the travel-bug".
