Hi there! My name is Rodrigo, I'm a 26 year old young professional attending Indiana University Purdue University in Indiana USA.

I'm an open minded easy going guy, who at the core of my identity believes in being kind to others no matter the circumstances. Overall, I have a very optimistic perspective on life and enjoy getting to know people through the stories they share and their passions in life.

I love everything about the outdoors, and enjoy leading an active lifestyle. Camping, biking, and hiking to name a few. When I visit new places, I always approach with a sense of curiosity and particularly love to experience the true local culture that isn't always visible. Not to say I don't enioy the tourist aspect, but it's the hole-in-the-wall places that really divulge the details of its inhabitants in my perspective. I truly enjoy learning and getting to know cultures of all kinds around the world.

My interests in travel have become more plausible now more than ever! I'm excited about the possibilities that could arise from this endeavor, whom is made possible my the kind and amazing hosts. While I look forward to traveling and getting to know a new place, I also hope to make some friends along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because it was something I looked into when trying to travel to different places around the world. The sense of community and friendliness is strong here and I can wholeheartedly say it's a community I want to be a part of!

Music, Movies, and Books

My music interests are basically endless. Pop, rap, rock, EDM, house music, R&B, classical, soul, and especially Latin American music like reggaeton and banda music!
My interests in books are narrowed down to: Mystery, apocalyptic world ending novels, zombie novels, romance, and some scientific research.
And finally my interests in movies are simple, anything sci-fi, horror, suspense, and especially Marvel movies, as well as DC movies, and Disney movies!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done is gotten rid of my car to lead a car free lifestyle! I primarily get around in my trusty road bike as well as public transportation! My reason is to rid myself of the financial burden, get around in a more active way, and of course the ultimate reason, to be sustainable and environmentally conscious.

Teach, Learn, Share

If there's something I can teach, I suppose is teach others about breaking barriers on conventional methods of making friends. This has opened up a whole new way!
In terms of learning, I want to learn and understand the different lifestyles of any place I'm able to visit. Learn the way of a culture through locals, and become inspired by them!
Now finally to sharing, I suppose I want to share my excitement with someone who has similar goals with this. To share good memories with new friends and create a strong sense of networking through every last person I can connect with.
