About Me

I am a med student, currently living in Berlin and ramping up for a solid learning marathon.
The long term professional goal is to become a neurologist or general practitioner; on a more personal level, figuring things out, being there for my family, my partner, and loved ones in general.
In my free time, I thoroughly enjoy taking long walks, reading about (mostly ancient) history, cooking, and strength training.
Other than that, I value good beer, strong espresso and, most importantly, learning via contact with other people as individuals. I believe it is the best antidote to dullness, arrogance, resentment.
If you want to know more about me, feel free to ask about absolutely anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Curiosity. To meet with people from different places, wich I think is fundamental for one's development and should count as basic education. To connect much more intimately with the places I visit, to get underneath the skin of places.

Interests

As you can see, I like sports and art, basically all means of self expression that speak to me; also using economics as a means of philosophy. It is a great tool if used properly.

Music, Movies, and Books

Most of classical music, Tom Waits, Manu Chao, Avishai Cohen, Seeed, Alt J, Louis Armstrong, The Doors, The Beatles, Chill Bump, Billy Talent, Faber, Pink Floyd, to name a few. Lots of melodic, downbeat techno creeping into my preferences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Doing a cycling trip with my father when I was ten; we managed 180 km in one day.
Also, I always ate up. Even when my mom made spinach.

Teach, Learn, Share

I learn and teach, give and take; both sides are important, always, everywhere, hopefully for my entire life. You forget one of them - you pay a price, a big one. To use a beautiful analogy of a friend: as long as the coin is spinning, both sides are visible. Stay agile, physically and mentally!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My assistance, knowledge and curiosity in the kitchen. I enjoy cooking, and as time passes, that passion has only increased. If you host me, and let me, chances are high that I cook you a good meal.
Conversations - probably not about everything, but about a lot!
If you have any questions regarding strength training, or rehabilitation from an acute or chronic injury, I might be able to offer you solid advice, as I have accumulated lots of experience, with my own injuries aswell as those of people I coach.
