About Me

Like a cat, walking his own ways, can be cuddly and very friendly as long as you respect them; stationary by life-style, eternal traveller by heart's longing.

It's important to me what kind of world we contribute to.

I'm new here. For references, you can see my HospitalityClub profile - nick: colargol (I've been a member since 2006).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My love for travelling is far greater than my abilities to travel expensive. And meeting people who actually live where you go, in their places, really brings you closer to the place as well as to the spirit of its inhabitants.
I know what difference it makes to know there's a welcoming home waiting for you so I want to offer this opportunity to other travellers as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Flamenco singing, other songs with space and depth (e.g. Kurpian, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Bulgarian...), Indian ragas and mantras, reggae, Andean music, classical rock (including The Beatles and John Lennon), American/British folk ballads (esp. Tracy Chapman, Simon & Garfunkel, David Rovics), folk from many countries, Orkiestra Na Zdrowie;

1 Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, Dances-with-Wolves, The Priest, Milos Forman, Carlos Saura, Eric Rohmer, Tony Gatlif;

non-fiction books; Thich Nhat Hanh, Louise Hay, Rick Jarow, Naomi Klein, Paulo Coelho...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiking across France and to Madrid, then a tour of flamenco birth places in Andalucia, visiting the places I'd read about and looking for the spirit of cante (and finding it alive!)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you/share some traditional songs; basics of some folk dances (e.g. Polish oberek).
You can teach me some songs or dances from your area (or others) and perhaps some vegetarian recipes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can talk about travels, places, people, livelihood and the world and life in general; sing flamenco or sth else; dance contact improv or some folk dances; exchange knowledge of interesting places and books; I can share my experience from Camino de Santiago; my experience with The Artist's Way; give a massage or Reiki session; cook something; join you in meditation or some non-professional activity.
