Hi, my name is Maria, I'm 27 years old and currently reside in a shared house in Bonn. I'm a special needs teacher. The level of my activity correlates strongly with the weather outside. During winter, I'm mostly lazy and watch TV series, while I like to go out and be active when it's getting warmer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Usually, I'm travelling with my S.O. or with friends. This year, I want to set sails mostly on my own for several weeks. Kind of like a last hooray before really settling into an adult life style and everything that comes with it. So while travelling on my own can become a little boring, I'd love to come in contact with locals who can recommend places to visit and to get a feel of their life in that place.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music. My taste in music varies from time to time. While I always appreciate independent pop and rock music such as Radiohead, Interpol, Jack Garrat, Coasts, Bilderbuch, ... I mostly listen to dubstep, tropical/deep house, EDM such as Skrillex, the Chainsmokers, matoma, steve aoki and so on at the moment.
I don't really have a favourite movie, I mostly watch series such as game of thrones, shameless, Veronica Mars, Vikings, HIMYM, New Girl, The Fosters, ...
My favourite books are mostly coming of age novels. I loved the Hunger Games, Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, the curious incident of the dog in the night time, and I love historic novels set in mediveal Britain.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As a young adult, I went on a pilgrimage with my youth club to Santiago de Compostela in Spain even though I'm not that religious. We started at the border in France and rode our bikes for 7 days. To reach that goal felt really great.
