I am a fan of simple things: good food, good music, a drink, a few friends, sitting under a tree somewhere.
Also, I am notoriously honest. I once attempted (only attempted!) to cheat in an exam at school and then never tried again because I felt so guilty. I wasn't even caught.
I tend to become incredibly invested and passionate about anything that sparks my interest and get a lot of motivation out of nowhere. (And might loose that again a bit afterwards.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The one thing that makes traveling and discovering countries special for me are the people I meet. Buildings, streets and landscapes may be the obvious things to visit and explore. But they're not what really sticks with me. Things like culture, the way of living, the atmosphere of a place and of course the people there and their stories make up my memories.

Interests

I guess I'm probably a very curious person. I enjoy learning and trying out new things a lot. I'm especially interested in psychology and learning languages.
And I love reading. For me, it's a very special way of learning about other people's lives and stories.
From time to time I got to get some thoughts out of my head and write songs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite musicians are:

Because I'm studying classical music I definitely enjoy classical music as well.

Movies that really impressed me in different ways were "A Beautiful Mind", "Funny Games" and "Dead Poet's Society".
And "Lion King" and "Matilda" make me cry. A lot.

I mostly read contemporary literature. Authors that I really like are for example Kundera, Borchert and Max Frisch. A book I recently read and enjoyed a lot was "Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe".
"The Little Prince" always gives me a feeling of home and comfort.
I also like reading poetry, although I don't come close to understanding everything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last February I spent a night on the floor of a cabin in the middle of nowhere in Russia. There was electricity but no running water.
The next day we stepped back onto our dog sleds to go the next slightly sketchy place for the night. I had met all the great people that were with me about a week earlier.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some chords on the guitar and some useless (or useful!) german words.
I'd love to learn about local customs in other countries and I generally believe that you can definitely learn something from everyone.
