About Me

I DON'T LIVE IN LONS-LE-SAUNIER, FRANCE ANYMORE.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I guess I'm just really curious about everything, that's why I'm here and that's why I travel.

I've been living and doing volontary work in France for 10 months and travelling a lot, meeting new people and it was amazing. I feel like travelling is a way of looking outside of every day routine and living a free live and these are both things that are important to me.

Interests

Actually I can get interested in practically everything, i have a deep interest in learning about everything, no matter whether you speak a rare swedish dialect or whether your hobby is to repair old computers i like people with passions for extraordinary things. I love crafting and doing practical things (sculpturing and sports) just as well as abstract theoretical topics (philosophy and history).

Music, Movies, and Books

At the moment I'm really into 60s-80s European culture, ranging from german authors like Heinrich Böll and tv shows like the german "Derrick", Rainer Werner Fassbinder, the french Nouvelle Vague (especially Eric Rohmer) and existentialists (also Simone de Beauvoir) and czech fairytale adaptions of this period (also some italian movies).
Sometimes I also prefer to relax to some good Netflix series (Stranger Things)
I don't limit my taste of music, because I know that it changes like crazy :D At the moment though, I like Tocotronic, Papooz (Ann wants to Dance), ANOHNI and Future Islands, but also classics like e.g. the late work of the beatles and . I also like to listen to audiobooks and radio podcasts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the moment I love working at the gallery and talking to all those interesting artists and organizing a vernissage. Before that, I've been a german teacher at a french lycée professionnel for 10 months, which was definitely the craziest thing I ever did and this includes doing a lot of amazing things, which I can talk about in all lenghts if you're interested in the french educational system :D

Teach, Learn, Share

I read a lot about art, literature and politics. Due to my volontary work in France I'm pretty much an expert of german AND french culture, because I had to compare them all the time. I know a lot about french cheese and can explain you what food you HAVE to buy when you're in France (and what to buy in Germany, although as an vegeterian I prefer la cuisine francaise). I've been accepted to art academy, art is a big part of my live, so I guess I can also teach you some techniques and drawing and talk about why I don't thinl that modern day art is shitty :D
Moreover, I speak english, french and german fluently, so I can help you with those languages.

What I Can Share with Hosts

All my skills that I described above, plus food I guess, which is always cheaper and more fun when shared ;)
