About Me

Hi, dear couchsurfer and potentially my new adventure partner!

I’m Teja. It’s hard for me to describe myself shortly. Sometimes I can be a hippie, loving every being alive and dancing until I drop. Sometimes a bohemian artsy soul, getting lost in theater magic and slowly enjoying dry wine. Sometimes a super excited cute youngster, having lots of hopes about people, the world, and my dream future. Sometimes a philosopher, taking long walks, stopping to observe flowers, sun, people, clouds, and reading a book on a bench. Sometimes silly, throwing all kinds of jokes of questionable quality and trying new funny dance moves. I feel like I have so many sides to me and I love how some of them contradict each other, some complement each other, and how different people help me discover all of these various sides. Life became way more peaceful and fun when I let myself be everything.

Some things, however, always feel home and dear to heart. I feel myself the most when I dance (so much freedom! Expression! Just pure energy splashing), play guitar (not a pro. Yet! One day I’ll be a jazzy musician), sing together with other people (harmonies! Mantra circles, folk acapella, anthems, etc.), smell flowers and fragrances (once I will have more money I will buy more!), meet sunsets (German culture of sitting on a hill/bridge while the sun is setting is just beautiful), lose myself in Berlin (my dearest city. I will move there one day), read books and see theater (worlds of magic!). And many more things.

Even though I consider myself logical and tend to make my decisions rationally by weighing all the arguments, sometimes I just love following the feeling of excitement, spontaneity, fun and magic. Feelings make me feel alive! Whether it’s pure happiness or deep resentment, I like having the whole palette of emotions and living through them fully. People have told me before that I tend to change my mood quite quickly, but at the same time I feel very connected to my emotions, I always try my best to communicate how I feel, what I need and what would make me feel the best at the given moment. I can’t lie and I’m fond of being sincere and honest constructively and nicely. Expecting the same from others :) People also often describe me as a good listener, a good questioner, smart, stylish, charismatic, emotionally aware and cute. From my side, I would also add easy-goingness, peacefulness, flexibility, spontaneity, adventurousness and excitement.

I love how colorful societies can be. I love getting to know different kinds of lifestyles, different customs, different mindsets. I would love to know more about anthropology so I could examine these differences more deeply. However, for me, it’s the easiest to connect with peaceful and philosophical yet expressive and creative individuals. I appreciate sincerity, emotional maturity, silliness, humour, intellect and educatedness, creativity, musicality, skillfulness and hospitableness in other people. It’s very interesting for me what sides of me different people can bring.

I deeply believe in the idea of hospitality. Sharing your home, your sacred place, your rituals and routines is one the most beautiful things out there. I dream of having my own long-term personal living place with people I love. I know sometime in the future it will happen :) Yet, today I can offer you a small room to share and my company. I can also share:
-Magnificent cooking skills (I stopped being modest about that. I know food very well, I can improvise with ingredients and make any meal fun and exciting. Food is my passion and love both cooking and eating. However, I lack knowledge in conditery)
-Good listening and questioning skills (many people have told me that I made them realize more things about themselves)
-Good taste in music (I lack more input, however. But the taste itself is nice. I like it :) )
-Adventurous spirit (many people have told me that they wouldn’t dare to do the things I tried. I have deep trust in the world and people therefore bigger tolerance to risks. Also, I don’t care that much what other people think. So far it worked amazingly)
-Styling or design advice (I love clothes and home decorating. I experience the world visually and have a strong sense of beauty, gracefulness, contrast, and esthetics)
-Bushcraft skills (I spent my teenage years in forests. I could survive alone in nature. However, I enjoy spending my time in cities now)
-Introduction to Lithuanian art

I would love to know more about:
-Mixology
-Anthropology, sociology
-Philosophy
-Cinema, theater
-Books
-Underground culture and cultural scene in general in your country/city (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
-Storytelling
-Stand-ups

You made it this far and looking forward to surfing with me? In your request please mention:
-Your estimated time of arrival and leaving (I have a lot of activities and only one pair of keys. We will need to do some planning)
-Your wishes for the city, what do you want or don’t want to see
-Your preferred activities, what you would find interesting in doing/talking with me
-What do you think would be interesting for me to know about you? What kind of skills, passions or stories can you share?
I will also consider non-personalized requests, but it’s nicer to have them personalized :) I prefer cultural exchange, sharing, chatting and all fun activities together, but also I don’t mind just sharing my place for you to crash. So just write me your plans and how much in contact you will want to be.

Also, keep in mind that I don't like to plan far into the future. Please request a stay no earlier than a week or two before your desired dates. If you ask me earlier - probably I will not be able to give a definite answer just before your desired dates.

Usually, I accept surfers for one or two nights. I am able to host for longer if I find spending my time with a surfer fun, easy and interesting. But there is only one way to find this out, therefore I can’t promise to host for longer before we meet :D If I’ll find you interesting, I’ll suggest a longer stay myself.
